So I havent been out birding much lately but I have been keepng an eye out on Whitman Campus. There have been frequent visits from Cedar Waxwings on campus, especially near the back side of Douglas hall where the berries are. I took some photos today of the waxwings, one of them seemed sick or injured and didn't move away from me. I don't see any injuries on the bird so I assume it might be sick. It was still in the same tree at sundown, its alert but not wanting to move anywhere. It's sad to see a sick or injured bird, but it was nice to be able to get some pictures that showed the feather detail of these birds. I have heard the calls of the Kingfisher on campus as well as seen it for the past 10 days or so. One of the female Mallards had baby ducks recently, I haven't seen them around and doubt they made it through the cold. I haven't seen the Ringed Teal that escaped from Pioneer park for about 4 or 5 days.
