Well I have been playing around with my new camera, however I only have a small lens for it and hopefully the larger lens will come next week. The pictures with the new camera and small lens have turned out marginal at best. I think I need more practice and the bigger lens. As far as birding the past several days I have seen behind Kmart; Great Egret, Yellowlegs, Yellow Rumped Warblers, Canada Geese, Killdeer, American Wigeon, Mallard Ducks, and Kingfishers. The Kingfisher's have been hovering above the water and dropping in after food. I have never seen this and really enjoy it. So here are a few practice shots with my camera and small lens....
Your kingfisher photo is great! I just started seeing an old kingfisher friend recently , too. I don't know where she's been. Today and yesterday I sneaked up on a merlin who also returns every year at this time.
