Bennington and Kmart area

I went wandering again in search of birds, there is a lack of birds lately. Migration has set in and I think that is why the birds are not as abundant. I did see an Egret behind the Kmart area. I was able to get near enough to get a decent picture. At Bennington I saw a Great Horned Owl and later on a Dove sitting on a rock pile. I can't wait to get my new camera and lens. I hope to be getting it in October. Hopefully I will see more birds the next time I go out.

Nice pictures, Jon. I am a birder in Lompoc, Ca. who worked with your mom at Farmin. I am interested in shore birds , terns, ducks and geese mostly because they are easy to see. I live only ten miles from a bird refuge on the Santa Ynez River Estuary.lois
