Whitman Mission Bird Show

A group brought in some birds that are unable to be released due to various reasons. It was a great chance to see some birds up close, closer than in the wild at least. I brought my camera along and though it feels like cheating to take pictures of captive animals, it let me get some details I couldn't have gotten otherwise. The birds they brought were, Great Horned Owl, Golden Eagle, Red Tailed Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, American Kestrel and my favorite, The Barn Owl. The feathers on the Barn Owl are super beautiful. I have been so busy I haven't been able to go birding so this was a treat to reconnect with what I love to do.

You are soo lucky to see the bald eagle, kestrel and peregrine up close. They are great pictures. lois
